WHAT WOULD YOU MAKE FOR YOUR FAVORITE (KID) GUESTS?

Enough of me telling you.  It's your turn to share.

If you could have your favorite kid(s) over for dinner(your own kids, nieces, nephews, grand kids, godchildren, friends) what would you make them?  What would be their dream dinner?

I would have my daughter and her favorite dinner would be pizza (I'd let her make her own), sausage, pasta, cuke and beet salad and for dessert it would have to be chocolate chip cookies.

Who would you have for dinner and what would you serve?
(By the way, if I am coming to your dinner, I would want steamed lobster with lots of butter.)
Share, share, (I've heard) that's fair!!!

Our dream dinner would be with my son, Vegas, Daddy and myself. Vegas would enjoy pizza, cooked with the cheese on then pealed off and doused with garlic and pepper and on the side he would be enjoying broccoli & waterchestnuts. For dessert...well, well, well that's when the meal would truly begin. Vegas, and ourselves, would truly enjoy warm chocolate chip cookies with mint chip icecream. Then we would all sit back in victory, with our hands resting on our content bellies...a perfect evening!

Heather, he must really like heavily spiced foods like my daughter.  This sounds like a fun night.  Looks like you have a great Father's Day idea.  Or maybe it should be Kid's Day (question: why isn't there a Kids Day when there is a Mother's and Father's Day...answer: everyday is Kid's Day).  Enjoy!!

my niece's dream dinner that i would make for her is steak on the grill with asparagus...and sweet potatoe hash. oh...she doesn't like to skip on the salad before. baby spinach, red leaf, carrots, cucumbers and lots of tomatoes from her garden! dessert would be a white cake i make from the box with white icing...but instead for icing in the middle of the layers i spread raspberry fruit spread and fresh raspberries. chill it in the fridge and decorate with some fresh flowers on top! it's gorgeous! looks like a wedding cake! she loves it.

I would make my grandchildren a traditional Italian dinner, starting with Antipasto consisting of prosciuttol, mortadella, salami and cheeses, pasta with meatballs and sausage. Followed by coffee and pastries. They would not eat any of this of course, and then I would serve them pizza - and chocolate cake for desert, no cannolis for my kids.As a grandparent, whatever makes them smile warms my heart

I would have my two cousins Callie and Ava over. My cousin Ava would love filet mignon with a side of sweet peas, and Callie would be dying for the most boring of foods, a boiled hot dog with a side of curly fries-- fast food junky. For desert though they would love to bake a layer cake. Both love to help as much as they can when we cook together and love decorating cakes and cupcakes even more =]

Jivan loves pasta (whole wheat) and also loves to make pesto (any excuse to use the food processor) We have been making a basil pesto together since he was 2 years old. Recently we have been experimenting with Broccoli Rabe Pesto, Spinach Pesto, Parsley Pesto....He loves them all and its a great way to get the veggies in too! For desert....hummmm...perhaps some fresh berries with agave drizzled on top and whip cream or vanilla ice cream. Yum!

I love the pesto variations.  It could be a whole lesson called "Reflections on Pesto" or "Veggies your child (or significant other) will actually eat".  I think it would be well-received by parent and child.  Finally a meal everyone can eat together.  On dessert, I still think chocolate chip cookies (especially the salty gooey cookie the NY Times created here:  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/09/dining/091crex.html ), can't be topped.  At least for me... I mean Ava, of course.  Thanks for sharing.

Broccoli Rabe is my favorite food, it's the type of food you either love or detest. I like to make it with orechiette (little ears) pasta and sausage with red pepper for heat. You can either take the sausage out of the casing or just slice and brown.

Sounds yummy.  Good with eggs too.  You're right about "love or detest".  My husband detests it and I love it.

well for my favorite kid I'd make some warm tomato & feta cheese dip, hummus, a green pesto tapenade a side bowl of olives and cornichons and of course some toasted flat bread to scoop it all up.
for dessert: toasted marshmallows over the fire with grahams and chocolate waiting!
